the budds of march

so, it's been a while since i posted anything on here. after so much time has gone by, it begins to feel overwhelming, like i have so much to say or so many pictures to add. then, i looked through the pictures we took last month, and there aren't that many. so, here is a littlebudd blog about how our march was...

we started off the month with a gathering for my mom's birthday. mike, unfortnately, was out of town that weekend, so he is not in these pics:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

then we had gymnastics the next day. it was our last class for a while. here's emily relaxing on the trampoline.

then, a couple of weeks went by before we picked up the camera again. spring break began and colorfield had a gig at hot lips pizza. emily had her first sip of beer... ok, don't freak out, it was ROOT beer! however, she did seem drunk on the excitement of getting to drink soda... that's not something she gets to do too often. we also enjoy a little acoustic rock-and-roll while we were there, of course!

then, the zoo! with grandma and grandpa. we love going to the zoo! this was a break-through trip too, because emily, who finally seems old enough to really understand what we were looking at, really enjoyed the animals. we saw so many kinds of animals, elephants, zebras, hippos, giraffes, many different types of birds... we also ate lunch and posed for some pictures. well, see for yourself:

here are grandma, grandpa, and emily in the bird atrium. it was warm in there, and the pretty birds flying all around were fun to watch.

here's emily eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. she had pulled the bread apart and licked the jelly (ok, jam). that's how she got the red dot on her nose, and i couldn't resist taking about six pictures of it... this was the lucky shot to make the blog!

there really are some animals in the background of these two shots... it's a hidden picture thing, "can you find the hidden hippos in this picture?" ;)

i'm sorry we didn't get any shots of the lorikeet section. it is a great part of the zoo where they give you little paper cups with nectar in them, and the birds land on you to drink the nectar. emily, mike, and grandpa all had birds land on them and it was very exciting, but alas, no pictures of that!

then, before leaving we had to pose a little bit:

then, we finished the month with a parents night out. emily stayed with grandma pat and gregg, while mommy went to
watch daddy, "rock out!"

hope everyone out there had a wonderful month of march 2007. we sure did. life just keeps getting better with this littlebudd of ours!

love you all!
L
